MicroModal is an especially fine version of the modal fibre and is considered the fibre of choice for underwear. Fabrics made from MicroModal are feather-light and hug the skin in a natural way. The raw material is beech wood.
At around 1.0 dtex and with a particularly fine cross-section, MicroModal can be spun extremely thin. It is an ideal blending partner for long-staple cotton, as both fibres share similar properties. Combined with fine materials such as silk or cashmere, it produces very fine, lightweight fabrics with an excellent handle.
You will mainly find MicroModal in high-quality underwear where a gentle feel on the skin, fineness and low weight matter – lingerie like a breath of nature.
